Notice text

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Qiagen LLC for the purchase of CDCBio Software License. This is a brand name request. This acquisition supports the software license renewal, including maintenance and support, for CLCBio for the existing CLC Bio Genomics Workbench installation. CLCBio Genomics workbench is a commercial, off-the-shelf software application used for the analysis, comparison and visualization of large volumes of genomics sequencing data. Genomics Workbench, Genomics Server, and add on modules are all widely used at CDC. This comprehensive cross-platform analysis solution is at the forefront of software development for genomics analysis, and is already integrated into a number of different workflows in CDC program laboratories. This software is an integrated desktop solution for many of the bioinformatics challenges that CDC laboratorians may encounter during the course of their work. Not only does it bundle many open source software algorithms into an easy-to-use graphical environment, but it is already LEVEL Ill approved. We require this specific software application for compatibility with existing software, infrastructure, licensing and training materials. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at ehu0@cdc.gov by 2nd August 2018.
