About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 243 units of NSN 1R-5340-016916027-V2, a flight-critical hardware item with specific sourcing requirements. This pre-solicitation notice indicates that government source approval is mandatory prior to contract award, with only previously approved sources eligible to submit proposals. Potential vendors must submit comprehensive technical data and source approval information using the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, which detail the technical specifications and production capabilities required. The government will evaluate proposals based on the vendor's ability to meet qualification requirements and provide documentation demonstrating previous production experience or capability. Interested parties must submit their proposals within 45 days of the February 6, 2025 publication date, with a final response deadline of March 24, 2025.
The contract opportunity is partially set aside for small business concerns, with potential set-aside categories including HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned, and Women-Owned Small Business programs. The procurement will be conducted under FAR 6.302-1, which allows negotiation with a single source, though all responsible sources may express interest and submit proposals. While no specific award value is disclosed, the relatively low quantity of 243 units suggests a moderate-sized contract. The government reserves the discretion to determine whether to compete the proposed contract based on responses received. Vendors must demonstrate their ability to meet all qualification requirements at the time of award, and the solicitation will specify the exact office where additional qualification information can be obtained.
