The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Chicago Soft, Ltd., 1820 Edgewood Drive, Suite 103, Lakeland, FL 33803, for a firm-fixed priced purchase order to renew maintenance MVS/Quick-Ref software. This maintenance is currently covered on two purchase orders. The Secondary Support Center (SSC) Purchase order from FY15 is SS00-15-50129 and the National Support Center (NSC) Purchase order from FY15 is SS00-15-50284.
Continued maintenance of these products is essential. Access to upgrades, updates, and fixes and patches ensures software continues to be compatible with the operating system and is in good working order. Without maintenance, there is potential for a major workload disruption. Chicago Soft, Ltd. provides unique patches and technical assistance necessary to support MVS/Quick-Ref software products. Any interruption to maintenance can severely affect our service to the public.
This purchase order will have the following periods of performance:
Maintenance for software at the SSC will be from 05/15/2016 through 05/14/2017
Maintenance for software at the NSC will be from 09/30/2016 through 05/14/2017
This procurement is being made under the authority of FAR 13.106(b) "Soliciting from a single source".
This is not a formal solicitation. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that the required capability is available from other sources and competition would be advantageous to the Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. If no affirmative written response is received, the procurement will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
