The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to The Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP) at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago, 5801 South Ellis Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60637-5418. The SEC has a requirement for a service that provides standard and derived historical data on U.S. common stocks, U.S. government bonds, mutual funds, and basic market indices. This is a renewal contract action.

The requirement is for access to CRSP data. The data will be delivered to the SEC via Wharton Research Data Services, a web-accessible research platform that enables data to be retrieved and analyzed. The Center for Research in Security Prices at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago is the only source that provides CRSP through the WRDS platform
which provides the required service and capabilities that meet the Commission's needs.


This contract will be for a base period of 12 months with four (4) 12-month option periods.


The SEC intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.5 in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901. Interested sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which will be considered by the agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in preparation of statements, proposals, or quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation or additional information will be made available with regard to this sole source notice.
