About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking qualified sources for a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to provide and deliver Capstan Parts specifically for the USS Oak Hill. This sources sought notice is a preliminary market research effort to identify potential contractors capable of supplying these specialized marine equipment components. The opportunity falls under the NAICS category 333923 for Overhead Traveling Crane, Hoist, and Monorail System Manufacturing, with a Product Service Code (PSC) of 3950 for Winches, Hoists, Cranes, and Derricks. While the notice explicitly states that it is not a formal solicitation, it serves as an initial information gathering step for the government's acquisition planning process. The pre-solicitation was posted on May 15, 2025, with responses due by May 22, 2025, and potential vendors are advised that no reimbursement will be provided for response preparation.
This sources sought notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, suggesting the procurement will be open to all qualified vendors. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are mentioned in the documentation. The exact award value and quantity of Capstan Parts required are not specified in this pre-solicitation notice, which is typical of early-stage market research documents. The contract appears focused on a specific naval vessel, the USS Oak Hill, implying a targeted and potentially limited procurement scope. Interested contractors should carefully review the technical requirements and prepare to demonstrate their capability to supply marine-grade Capstan Parts that meet the Navy's stringent standards and specifications when a full solicitation is eventually released.
