Notice text
The Bureau of the Fiscal Service, on behalf of the Office of Financial Research (OFR), intends to make award to Capital Economics N.A. Limited (CE), 100 Victoria St, London, SW1E5JL, United Kingdom, on a sole source basis under the authority FAR 6.302-1, for a Capital Economics subscription. The services will deliver expert subject matter data and analysis on five topics: 1. US Economics; 2. China; 3. UK Economics; 4. Global Economics and 5. Emerging Markets. Each service produces 3-5 reports per week ranging from short notes on the latest economic data to longer-term strategic analysis and forecasts. The company's publications are pieces of economic research produced solely and independently by economists employed by Capital Economics.
The US economics team delivers fundamental analysis of the trends and developments in the US economy.
The China Economics service provides comprehensive coverage of developments in China and Hong Kong as well as independent forecasts. It benefits from the expertise of economists who speak and read Chinese and have years of experience visiting and studying the country.
The UK Economics service also provides detailed analysis and independent forecasts for the UK economy and financial markets, offering both rapid responses to new data and developments, and more in-depth coverage of key themes, current trends, and future developments.
The Global Markets service provides detailed analysis and independent forecasts for global financial markets, covering both advanced and emerging economies. It includes forecasts for the major asset classes (equities, bonds, currencies) based on our economic views and analysis of fundamental value. The Global Markets service produces 7 regular publications, ranging from short commentaries on global market developments to longer-term monthly and quarterly strategic analysis of key themes among developed and emerging asset classes. The Global Economics service provides high-level analysis of economic developments in individual countries and regions, but the focus is on global implications and issues. The service includes timely updates on global growth, trade and inflation; forecasts for monetary policy and inflation in the largest advanced and emerging economies; and a quarterly global economic outlook. It also offers concise but detailed research on current global issues such as the implications of the slowdown in China, the weakness of global inflation, the outlook for world trade, and the fallout from the Fed raising rates and unwinding QE.
The Emerging Markets service provides insights on cross-cutting themes and issues affecting emerging markets and offering a big-picture outlook for growth, inflation and policy for Emerging Asia, Emerging Europe, Latin America, MENA, and SSA.
OFR requires this data to develop more relevant insights about financial stability by making it possible to study longer term issues and potential causes of recession and financial crisis, which is a critical part of their mission.
