The proposed procurement is for NSN, 1710-01-454-7454, Cable and Reel Assembly (P/N 524631-1) made in accordance to 80020 NAVY drawings. Item is coded as a Critical Safety Item (CSI), and requires source approval from NAVAIR, Lakehurst. The subject Purchase Request will be solicited as unrestricted using FAR 6.302-3 (a) (2), Industrial mobilization; engineering, developmental, or research capability; or expert services under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (3). The solicitation will be sole sourced to Cage 77141, Wirerope Works Inc., (WWI). Contract type will be firm-fixed priced for a base quantity of 20 AY. Item is for DLA Stock Location, New Cumberland, PA.
Requested delivery is approximately 420 days with First Article Testing. Solicitation will require FOB Destination with Material Receipt Inspection at contractor's facility, mandated by NAVAIR.

Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice.
