The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit sole source to JETechnology Solutions Inc., Cage Code 4FKL5 under the authority of the small business Administration's 8(a) program. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Foreign participation is not permitted at the prime contractor level.
This requirement is for a firm-fixed price contract for Formation Flight System in support of the C-17 Globemaster; NSN: 1730-01-503-4171; Part Number 17G130478-1. The basic requirement is for qty. of 2 each; there will be three options for additional supplies based on qty. 1 each.
The C-17 landing gear system is capable of operation on austere, semi-prepared, compacted runways. The main landing gear (MLG) system consists of the shock strut assembly, PN: 17P2C1000, and associated links, braces, actuators, and wheels. The MLG shock strut supports the aircraft fuselage while on the gorund and AB-Sorbs the shocks generated during take off, landing, taxing, and loading.
The MLG shock strut assembly provides the absorption of the loads untilizing a dry nitrogen gas spring and viscous hydraulic damping. The major components of the MLG shock strut are the cylinder assembly, PN: 17P2C1009-1, the piston assembly, PN: 17P2C1001-1, the metering PIN PN: 17P2C1020-1, and the valve, PN: 17P2C1274-1. Maintenance at the organizational, intermediate, and depot levels require the removal and installation of the approximately 400 lbs shock strut assembly.
The solicitation is expected to be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities webpage (http://www.fbo.gov/) on or around 06 Feb 2019.
