This requirement is for a firm-fixed price contract for Formation Flight System in support of the C-17 Globemaster; NSN: 6150-01-312-2653; Part Number 17G440519-1. The requirement is for qty. of 2 each; there will be not be any option years.
The C-17 Aircraft is equipped with two recognition light systems (RLS), located one on each wingtip. The RLS consists of a power/control assembly, two light head assemblies, one facing forward and the other facing AFT. The light head assembly contains a Xenon flash tube and pulse transformer. The power/control assembly has the timing and control circuitry, and it provides the energy and trigger pulses to the flash tube. The power/control storage are charged during off time of the flash tube and discharges when a trigger occurs. The voltage is applied to the pulse transformer located within the light head assembly. The pulse transformer applies high voltage to the flash tube trigger, enabling it to flash.
At the intermediate level of maintenance, operational tests and fault isolation tests will be performed on the RLS. A means is required to interconnect the general purpose test equipment, cable breakout adapters, and the unit under test during fault isolation and operational tests.
The solicitation is expected to be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities webpage (http://www.fbo.gov/) on or around 11 Feb 2019. If you have questions or concerns related to this acquisition, contact the Contract Specialist at natasha.montano.1@us.af.mil; telephone 478-926-2409.
