About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 20 Ball Bearings (NSN 3H-3110-009873739-NT) with Technical Data Package Version 004, to be delivered FOB Origin. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a specialized procurement that requires engineering source approval from the design control activity to maintain part quality. The acquisition is focused on obtaining bearings from approved sources with unique design capabilities, engineering skills, and manufacturing/repair knowledge. Potential vendors must qualify through rigorous procedures approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity, which will evaluate their ability to meet strict technical and manufacturing requirements. The pre-solicitation was posted on February 25, 2025, with responses due by April 9, 2025, giving interested parties approximately six weeks to prepare their submissions.

No specific set-aside categories are designated for this contract opportunity, which suggests open competition among qualified manufacturers. The procurement is for a small quantity of 20 bearings, indicating this may be a specialized or replacement part for specific naval equipment. While the exact award value is not specified, the complexity of the qualification process suggests this is a high-precision, technically demanding contract. Interested parties can obtain relevant specifications and documentation through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) at Document Automation and Production Service in Philadelphia, PA, with most documents available in Adobe PDF format through ASSIST-Online. Potential vendors without internet access can contact the DODSSP ASSIST Help Desk at 215-697-2667 for additional information and documentation support.
