About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 98 units of pressure sensor bases under NSN 1H-6685-015995183-X3, with deliveries to DLA Distribution facilities in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania and Tracy, California. This procurement falls under the Pressure, Temperature, and Humidity Measuring and Controlling Instruments category and represents a sole source acquisition under FAR 6.302-1 authority, as the government does not own the rights to the technical data needed for additional sourcing and considers reverse engineering uneconomical. The agency intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, though all responsible sources may express interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date of June 18, 2025 to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements, with the due date established as July 21, 2025. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting participation to qualified small business entities. The procurement requires delivery of 98 units total, split between two DLA Distribution locations using the specified technical data package version 004. No incumbent contractor or current service provider is identified in the notice, nor are specific award values or budget ranges disclosed. The timeline allows for a 33-day response period from the posting date, with all submissions to be considered solely for determining the procurement approach. The government emphasizes that this notice does not constitute a request for competitive proposals but rather serves as a market research tool to assess potential competition.
