Amendment 2 - Questions received from Potential Quoters
The following
Q: If the Automated Sample Purification System is semi-automated meaning everything is automated except for the sample loading, which the sample is manually loaded, will this be allowed?
A: It is the FDA's expectation an automated system performs the entire cleanup automatically. However, manual sample loading is acceptable. The difference is whether it is done sequentially (one complete clean-up then another starts) or all at the same time (parallel).

Q: Is manual column conditioning allowed?
A: Columns in an automated systems should not require conditioning.
All other terms and conditions in the solicitation remain unchanged. Proposal due dates are not extended and are still due 1:00pm, EST on 8/21/2019.

A potential offeror asked the following clarifying question:
"How many parallel sample purifications are required to be run at a time? The specification does not call out how many samples are required to be run in parallel."
The FDA would like to confirm the instrument must have 2 parallel sample prurifications.
All other terms and conditions in the solicitation remain unchanged. Proposal due dates are not extended and are still due 3:00pm, EST on 8/14/2019.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested, and a separate written solicitation will not be issued.

This solicitation is a Request for Quote (RFQ) using FAR Parts 12 and 13 procedures. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2019-03 July 12, 2019. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, small business size standard 1000 employees. This solicitation is being provided as a full and open competition. All responsible sources are invited to submit a quote.
