Update #1 ·
Added: Jul 25, 2017 2:16 pm The purpose of this contract is to provide the Government with nationwide ARV drug use data that includes demographic data and linked medical claims data, so that these data can be stratified by national, state, and MSA level for the years 2013-2016. If the Government elects to exercise option years, subsequent years of data will be acquired each year, for example in Option Period 1, data from 2017 will be purchased, in Option Period 2, data from 2018, etc. The analyses to be conducted using these data will assess the uptake of PrEP and PEP and produce national estimates; duration of and adherence to HIV treatment; quality of PrEP and HIV care; costs of care; co-morbidities among patients included in the database. The analyses will use combinations of diagnosis codes (ICD-9/ ICD-10), procedure codes (CPT), and drug codes (NDC) to identify diagnoses, procedures such as lab testing, and prescribed medications. Additionally, analyses will also be done to assess differences in HIV prevention and treatment by demographic characteristics (e.g., age, sex, race/ethnicity) and geographic factors (e.g., region, state, urban/rural, county, MSA) to identify disparities in utilization.
