Description

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has been collaborating with industry on the topic of cybersecurity in manufacturing . The purpose and objective of this procurement is to acquire the components needed to build a robotics manufacturing test bed that represents the architecture most commonly used in the US manufacturing industry. The NCCoE requires the Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) components as they represent the US manufacturing architecture environment and, therefore, are needed for the research to align with current industry practices.

While the required components Allen Bradley parts are manufactured by Rockwell Automation, Rexel USA, Inc. is the sole supplier of original equipment manufacturer parts and exclusive representative of Rockwell Automation in the United States.  The technology is proprietary to the company and Rockwell Automation does not authorize other resellers.  Therefore, only Rexel USA, Inc. is capable of supporting this requirement and a sole source acquisition is necessary.
