Added: Sep 03, 2009 4:53 pm Modified: Feb 04, 2010 10:19 amTrack Changes The Advanced Command Destruct System (ACDS) will provide a fully redundant FlightTermination System with the ability to command Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) around theareas surrounding Edwards AFB, California, using either the Inter-Range InstrumentationGroup (IRIG) or Enhanced Flight Termination System (EFTS) capabilities. The ACDScomponents will include range safety panels, ultra-high frequency (UHF) transmittersystems that interact with Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) for encryption, highpower radio frequency (RF) control functions, and monitoring and data logging systemsthat interact with GFE for decryption for the purpose of mission monitoring and postfight analysis.

Added: Sep 03, 2009 4:53 pm NASA/DFRC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP)for Advanced Command DestructSystem upgrade and redundancy to the DFRC Flight Termination System in order to meetRange Commanders Council (RCC)208-6 Standards.The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note26.This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1.The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 334511 and 750 employees, respectively. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about September 21, 2009 with ananticipated offer due date of on or about October 22, 2009.An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over theInternet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/DFRCBusiness Opportunities home page ishttp://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=24 Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer.
