About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime (DLA Maritime) is seeking qualified small business vendors to provide Kleen Blast #16-30 sieve size abrasive grit, an iron alumina silicate derived from copper slag, for use at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The solicitation, numbered SPMYM4-25-Q-0150, requires vendors to submit detailed quotes by December 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time via email. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and self-certify they are not suspended or debarred from federal contracting. The government will evaluate offers based on price, technical acceptability, and delivery terms, with a focus on vendors' ability to meet all specified material and packaging requirements. Each quote must include comprehensive information such as pricing, point of contact, Tax ID, Unique Entity ID, CAGE Code, and payment terms.

This solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 327910 with a size standard of 900 employees, specifically targeting abrasive product manufacturers. The procurement is for 1-ton (2000 lb) bags of the specialized abrasive grit, with delivery to DLA Distribution at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The requirement appears to be driven by specific Naval Ship Repair needs, with CANAM MINERALS noted as a potential source through their KLEENBLAST product, which is authorized on the Qualified Products List (QPL-22262). While no specific award value is mentioned, the solicitation indicates an 8-week delivery lead time following contract award. The material is classified as hazardous and must comply with specific packaging and shipping regulations, including UV-treated bags with specialized inlet/outlet spouts and protective features.
