About this opportunity

This Special Notice was published by the Department of Veterans Affairs to announce its intent to sole source the procurement of a MALDI Biotyper system from Branch Medical, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. The Louis Stokes Cleveland Medical Center requires the modular MALDI Biotyper A for use in identifying bacteria and other microbes.

SPECIAL NOTICE

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

Biotyper

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Louis Stokes Cleveland Medical Center (CLE VAMC), 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority VAAR 819.7007, Sole source awards to Service-disabled Veteran-owned small business concerns. The NAICS code is 334510 with a small business size standard of 1,250. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with one, Branch Medical, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOSB), 418 Pioneer Street, Ridgefield, WA 98642.

The MALDI Biotyper ® is a modular system designed to be configured according to individual laboratory needs.Â

Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Friday, March 18, 2022 at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.  All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation is available at this time. All inquiries shall be submitted to Rachelle Hamer at rachelle.hamer@va.gov.
