About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is seeking to procure storage batteries through a pre-solicitation notice with a Product/NSN of 6140-01-678-7176. The solicitation, which will be available on DLA's Internet Bid Board Site (DIBBS) on 03/21/2025, is for the procurement of commercial batteries with a base quantity of 3,300 units. While pricing will be significant, the final award will be based on a comprehensive evaluation of price, delivery, performance, and other factors outlined in the full solicitation. Potential contractors must go through a Source Approval Request (SAR) process to demonstrate their ability to manufacture products equal to or better than the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The solicitation requires all offers to be submitted in English and U.S. dollars, with a preferred submission method of uploading through DIBBS or emailing the contract specialist, Jacob McGee.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations, and the currently approved source is L3HARRIS GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. with a specific part number of 12500-2500-02. The contract specifies a required delivery timeline of 330 days with FOB Destination terms and includes inspection and acceptance points as detailed in the full solicitation. The material is considered hazardous, which may impact handling and transportation requirements. The base quantity is 3,300 units with an option for 100% additional procurement. Interested suppliers must follow the qualification procedures approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity, with the burden of proof resting on the contractor to demonstrate technical competence and product quality. Proposals must be submitted by 04/10/2025, and the solicitation is categorized under NAICS code 335910 for Battery Manufacturing.
