About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime is conducting a pre-solicitation market survey for a sensitive switch with National Stock Number (NSN) 5930-01-014-9543, specifically seeking manufacturers who can produce components matching Sensata Technologies (P/N 10AT353-1) or MPC Products Corporation (P/N 4090005-1) specifications. This is a Navy-identified Critical Safety Item (CSI) that requires potential contractors to submit a comprehensive Source Approval Request (SAR) package demonstrating their ability to manufacture the product at or above original equipment manufacturer (OEM) quality standards. Interested manufacturers must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and provide detailed information about their business capabilities, including manufacturing location, distribution status, and commercial item classification. The market survey seeks potential suppliers to verify their capacity to meet technical requirements and provide cost/pricing data for contracts potentially exceeding $2 million. Responses to the market survey are due by December 6, 2024, and must be submitted to Brian Maxwell via email at brian.maxwell@dla.mil.
The procurement does not have a specific small business set-aside designation and is seeking to procure 1,032 units with a 270-day delivery requirement. Current approved manufacturers include Sensata Technologies and MPC Products Corporation, who serve as the benchmark for quality and specifications. While specific award value details are not explicitly stated, the market survey suggests the potential contract could be significant, particularly given the critical safety nature of the switch and the comprehensive approval process required. Potential suppliers must demonstrate their manufacturing capabilities, provide precise technical documentation, and prove they can meet the stringent quality standards required for this defense-related procurement. The solicitation emphasizes that offers from non-approved sources must undergo a thorough evaluation process and submit a complete SAR package to be considered for contract award.
