The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Alaska Science Center, has a requirement for
Small solar GPS/Argos satellite platform transmitter terminals to track the movement pattern of large gulls in South Central Alaska specifications:
Not to exceed 22g in weight
64 x 23 x 16.5 mm in size
GPS locations need to be obtained during scheduled duty cycles and data automatically sent back via the Argos System

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 and 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; solicitation number G16PS00683 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in accordance with Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-89, effective 14 Jul. 2016.
The Government anticipates award of a commercial, firm-fixed price type purchase order. All firms must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at www.sam.gov, to be considered at award. Responses must be in writing, by email or fax to the Contract Specialist: jmdavis@usgs.gov or 916 278 9339 (fax).
This requirement is small business set-aside. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334220 Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing and the size standards in number of employees: 750.
