Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) system requirements:
1. Instrument must be able to collect data across multiple sub-volume positions within the sample chamber by use of automated camera-lens-laser positioning used for sizing and concentration and fluorescence measurements.
- In doing so, the sampling statistics of tracking nanoscale volumes are greatly improved, relative to the fixed-position-sampling of our main competitor
2. Instrument must be able to perform fully automated alignment of respective camera, lens, and laser component positions, as required for synchronized movement during sampling cycles.
- Automation of NTA apparatus requires extra hardware, and being able to perform multi-point analyses seamlessly requires automated alignment, so it is easy for users.
3. Sample cell walls must consist of chemically inert fused silica, and support use of multiple sub-volume sampling across more than 500 microns of range, in order to provide for proper sampling efficiency.
- ZetaView sample cell is easy to clean and is chemically robust, and is large enough to work well with the integrated multi-point sampling.
Smaller sample cell designs don’t promote these capabilities, whereby, sample volumes would necessarily overlap.
4. Instrument must use 10x objective lens, for 40x increased sampling volume, versus 20x lens.
- as per multiple sub-volume sampling, we sample a larger volume of suspension in each sub-volume, further improving our NTA statistics over the competition. No syringe pump required!
5. Instrument software must provide Real-time particle counting of the live video output, whereby the # particles/frame is determined BEFORE measurement and analysis.
- having live, real time tracking ability allows one to optimize data collection and analysis, to better build robust SOPs. Otherwise, data collected on valuable samples could suffer
6. Instrument software must provide a digital CMOS projection of light scattering particles within the real-time live video output, in addition to standard analog video CMOS presentation.
- ZetaView digital projection of tracking efficiency, real time, is what allows us to complement a standard analog output
7. One second videos allow for F-NTA data collection before photo bleaching occurs for most fluorophores.
8. Solid glass flow cell designed for quick cleaning.
9. Speed of sampling. ZetaView will collect and analyze a statistically valid data set in two minutes.
Contrast that with 20 minutes for 20x designs.
10. Four LASER design, 405nm, 488nm, 520nm and 640nm, pre-aligned and computer selectable. No manual exchange of LASERS, which then would require a new sample.
11. Zeta potential measurements on the same sample as size, fluorescence and concentration measurements.
