QUESTIONS & RESPONSES
Q1. We will deliver the container and set it in place, provided there is enough room to do so on a roll back style truck (similar to how roll off dumpster is delivered). However, you will be responsible for connecting it to your power supply. We can assist/guide your electrician remotely, but we do not ever connect our equipment to our customers’ power supply.
R1: Understood, roller delivery, space is available, will need advice and training on operations.
Q2. Delivery is mentioned in a few different places as either being within 10 days or 15 days from the award of contract. 15 days would be preferred, but we could potentially deliver within 10 if necessary.
R2: Desired delivery is 15 days from the award of the contact but would like to call for delivery to ensure space is ready.
Note: The current MORGUE facility located in the Pathology Department in WAMC had reached the life expectancy. There are not repairs parts for the MORGUE and personnel from the Healthcare Technology Management Branch DOL must constantly conduct emergency homemade repairs to maintain the Unit operational.
It is critical to finalize the purchase of the temporary outdoor refrigerator 20‘container unit to always maintain the Pathology Department mission capable.
Q3. Quality Control Program – is the government looking for someone to monitor the operation of the cooler in perpetuity, as in a service agreement going forward? We do not offer service on units we sell.
R3: The product should come warrantee on the van and on the power and reefer unit. We will require a multiyear service agreement in the future but will be with a local vendor.
Q4. Electrical requirements are listed as 460V three phase on 60 amps, and there’s a line item for a transformer/convertor. These units require 460V three phase on a dedicated 30-amp circuit. If that power is available, you will not need a step-up transformer or a phase convertor. The step-up transformer allows you to run the unit on 230V three phase on a dedicated 60-amp circuit. A digital phase convertor in addition to the step-up transformer would allow you to run 220V single phase power on a dedicated 60-amp circuit. Can you confirm what’s required/what power is available on site?
R4: No transformer is required; - 460 Volt, 3 phase and 60 AMP.
Q5. Delivery (10-15 Days): Based on our history of mobilizing these containers for these type of applications (we have a significant history of placing containers around the country), we feel it would be in the interest of both parties to extend this to 30-45 days. This would set a realistic expectation for the facility as to when they would receive a fully-kitted container. Is this acceptable?
R5: We desire a 15-days delivery from date of award, but to be coordinated for delivery (to ensure placement pad is ready).
Q6. We can offer two options for electrical:
‐ This is desired = 460/480V, 3 Phase, 25 Amp ‐ Not desired = 230/240V, 3 Phase, 50 Amp
Is one of these options acceptable?
R6: This is desired = 460/480V, 3 Phase, 25 Amp
Q7. Set-up: We can deliver and set-in place the container, but it is our standard procedure to have the end user (customer) to coordinate the electrical hook-up and assemble the racks and equipment in the container. Is this acceptable?
R7: We will have electricians to perform hook-ups but require training on operation of the reefer.
Q8. Typical interior is steel, not stainless steel. Is this acceptable?
R8: Must be stainless steel.
Q9. Also, we are hoping to get at least a one-week extension to the close date of the bid.
R9: See amendment 0001.

The Government reserves the right to make an award on any item or group of items in a quote, if it is determined to be in the Government’s best interest. The evaluation of this requirement will result in a purchase order(s), price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate quotes:
