Below are the answers to the contractors questions.
1. Will the ACOE be welding D rings on deck to secure equipment?
SPECIFICATIONS: Securing and protection of the equipment is the responsibility of the Contractor while it is on the Contractor’s barge.
2.. Will the ACOE Be responsible for removing D rings if used?
No.
3. Will the ACOE be ballasting the barge?
SPECIFICATIONS: Contractor is responsible to position barge adjacent to Government facilities and for performing all actions on Contractor barge.
4. Will the ACOE be providing equipment to secure equipment to barge i.e. chain binders, straps?
SPECIFICATIONS: Securing and protection of the equipment is the responsibility of the Contractor while it is on the Contractor’s barge. Government will supply a crane, crane operator, and rigging at the locations for loading and unloading of Government furnished equipment only.
5. What is the timeline for this tow? (start date, length of time to load/unload) Pickup Date: No later than 28 January 2021. Delivery Date: Within 30 days of pickup.
6. Should this be bid for a day rate or bid for the entirety of the job?
Entire Job.
7. Should my bid include fuel/oil for the vessel? For most jobs we bill companies directly for fuel as we use it.
