Text version

1. This rechargeable nitrogen cylinder serves as the source for a nitrogen static pressure test circuit capable of providing test pressures of 100 to 3000 PSIG for aircraft component testing. The nitrogen cylinder, through pressure regulators, also pressurizes the reservoir.

2. Oil and hydraulic fluid temps are controlled through a heat exchanger normally, and the tolerances are from 100 degrees to 160 degrees F.

3. Test pressure systems: Hydraulic Static - hydrostatic pressures up to 25,000 Psi

Pneumatic Static - pressures up to 3000 Psi
Dynamic Tests - Capability of testing aircraft

components at flow rates up to 30 GPM with pressures up to 3750 PSIG and back pressures up to 200 PSIG; pressures up to 5000 PSIG at reduced flow rates.

4. Pump test - Capable of testing fixed and variable volume pumps with displacements up to 30 CPM, discharge pressures up to 3200 PSIG, inlet pressures from 0 to 150 PSIG, and case drain flows from 0.13 to 1.66 GPM at pressures from 0 to 160

PSIG

5. Modern controls are preferred, or, whichever is easiest for inspection, and/or removal for calibration (depending on the controls or gauges)

6. Cooling water will be city water.

7. I suppose that static circuit may be used for leak testing. (Better to have and not need it...)

8. Whichever tubing would be optimal to withstand these pressures and then some. Yes, most likely would be stainless steel.

9. Filters: High pressure - 3 micron element, replaceable

Boost Low Pressure - 10 micron element, replaceable
Reservoir Return - 10 micron element, replaceable
Reservoir Boost Supply - 10 mesh element, replaceable
Water inlet strainer - 20 mesh element, replacable

10. It would be acceptable for LCD HMI to annunciate alarms, however would prefer that they are not susceptible to problems due to hydraulic fluid saturation, in the event of fluid spray.

11. Safety guards would be optimal. These test stands put out a great deal of PSI, and I'd prefer the best possible safety precautions when testing at these pressures. I've seen clear plastic enclosures, and doors that encase or shield off personnel from the component being tested, however, the component itself is still visible to accomplish testing.

12. Stainless steel would be perfectly fine for exterior cabinet.
