QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Questions and Answers

Culinary Training

1) Question: Has a contractor performed similar work to this for the government in the past? If yes, please provide contract information.

Response: Yes.

Contract No: W912CN-15-P-0027

Contractor: AK Food Consultants LLC

2) Question: Will there be payment after each months training or do I need to cover cost to the end of contract.

Response: Payment can be made after each month training.

3) Question: How is travel charged or is it calculated in the total price?

Response: Travel related to Para 1.5.11 of the PWS will be reimbursable. Government POC approval is required prior to any travel. If travel is required and approved, funds will be provided at that time and actual cost will be reimbursed.

4) Question: Does the Army have a lodge or housing on post that our instructor and possible support staff utilize during the training sessions?

Response: No. On post hotels/housing are for military and DoD personnel only. The contractor must coordinate for hotels off-base.

5) Question: We recognize these are two weeks training sessions but how many days prior to the training should we allow in preparation for the classes?

Response: We typically need two (2) weeks to re-fit between training classes, best preferred option is three

(3) weeks between classes. This allows us time to procure the necessary groceries and supplies in time for the next iteration.

6) Question: You included a Wage Determination for this effort but our potential position would be considered an exempt position and therefore not accountable to the DOL Wage Determination and the SCA.

Does our instructor have to be a non-exempt employee?

Response: No, the instructor does not have to be a non-exempt employee. The Wage Determination / SCA is included for contractor information.

7) Question: If the Army does not provide lodging or if we have pay for the Army lodging or other lodging and meals will our instructor be reimbursed at the current published Per Diem?

Response: No, the price for the contract is “turn-key” and must include all costs necessary to accomplish the requirements as stated in the PWS. On travel costs related to Para 1.5.11 of the PWS, see response to Question No. 3.
