Questions from Industry:

1. Please provide Evaluation Criteria Answer: See FAR 52.212-2

2. Please provide Basis of Award Answer: See Addendum to 52.212-1

3. Warranty: Please provide additional detail regarding the warranty requirement (Salient Characteristics Item #8)

Answer: At least the same warranty terms, including offers of extended warranties, offered to the general public in customary commercial practice.

b. Desired response time.

Answer: To be agree between the contracting office and contractor when a situation arises after contract award

c. Extended warranty options [point of sale (PoS) and post-sale)], if any.

Answer: See answer to question 3a above.

d. “Labor” requirement - please detail the type of “labor” required from the contractor (above and beyond the training of users/maintainers addressed in CLIN 0003 and Items 9/10 of Salient Characteristics).

Answer: None

e. Government’s level of desire for remote diagnostic capability.

Answer: None

4. Please provide additional detail regarding training (Salient Characteristics Items #9/10).

Answer: The required training is to teach the use of the equipment.

5. Government’s plan to address additional training (user/maintainer) due to personnel movement/loss of trained personnel.

Answer: None

6. Please provide additional clarification on questions 4/5 of QA responses issued August 18, 2017. We are requesting the Government review their initial response to Question #4 based on the following argument:

The Government’s answer to question #4 states “We are okay if the equipment provided has the capability to see within the body but it is not a necessary requirement to accomplish our mission,” while in response to question #5 the Government mentions their “customers” and how they “…tend to try to make everything as difficult as possible…” It would seem the Government would desire the capability of detecting contraband hidden inside a body cavity of “difficult customers.”

Answer: No.
