W9123722Q0127- Environmental Trail Stabilization Project Q &A

1. Can the brush be disposed off/on site? Yes, brush and excess dirt from this project may be disposed of on site at a pre-determined location.

1. Is there a width specification for the path? The contour should be a minimum of 12 feet wide and the trail itself should be a minimum of 8 feet wide.

1. Is there a spec on the rip rap, and also how wide, deep & thick, is there a bedding requirement, what quantities? The size of rip-rap must be within 9-18” diameter and be placed approx. 25 feet from the slope of the new trail to the waters edge. Enough riprap shall be placed so that the ground underneath cannot be seen.

1. Is there a spec on the walking path gravel, and also how wide, deep & thick, is there a bedding-& compaction requirement, what quantities? The walking path should be a minimum width of 8 feet wide with a 2” base of #2 aggregate followed be another 2” of crush run or #57 stone. Filter cloth or geotextile matt must be installed underneath the trail prior to placing aggregate. Each layer should be compacted.

1. Can we have a seeding, mulching spec for disturbed areas? All disturbed areas above the summer-pool water line that will not be covered by the trail or rip-rap must be seeded using a minimum of 10lbs of grass seed per acre and 2000 lbs of straw per acre coverage. Hydro seeding is an acceptable means of seeding as well.

1. Can we clarify what kind of draining systems should be installed? Culverts, side swales, water bars? Culverts or a combination of drainage ditch and culvert must be installed. 10” diameter or larger culvert must be installed anywhere drainage intersects the walking the trail. Drainage ditches must be lined with filter cloth and channel liner (rip rap).
