USMA PURCHASE DESCRIPTION
USMA Stock Number: A0040 Collar Clasp
These Collar Clasps are described as spring loaded steel clips used to hold inner collar on Dress and Full-Dress Coats of Cadets in the United States Corps of Cadets. Their steel spring mechanism is similar to that found commonly on clips for suspenders. The Collar Clasps allow the wearer to adjust the collar. Clasps each had four (4) corner eyelets (holes) in the steel. Each eyelet hole is 1/16 th of an inch in diameter for attaching the clasp to the collar to materials with sewn thread stitches. Clasp dimensions are 1 3/32 ths inches (35/32 ths) long by 21/32 ths of an inch wide. See images attached.
These Collar clasps are sewn using an automated sewing machine with holding devices designed specifically to firmly and securely hold this clasp in position to be sewn automatically. Clasps of other configurations will not be properly held in position Therefore, the shape of the clasp and positioning of the eyelet holes in the plate of the clasp is critical. The offered clasp must match the configuration at of the sample clasp or they will not meet the requirements.
Samples of the clasp are available by written request to the Contracting Officer for the Solicitation.
