USMA SPECIFICATIONS
Cloth, Poly / Cotton, Twill, White
India White Cloth for USMA Cadet Coats, Trousers, and Skirts. (C0053)
1. Fiber Content 65% Polyester / 35% Combed Cotton (+/- 3%)
2. Finished Weight 7.7 Ounces per Square Yard (+/- 0.3 Oz.)
3. Weave 3/1 or 2/1 Left Hand Twill
(See Figure #1)
4. Finished Count Warp, 64 to 86 Weft, 48 to 57

5. Finished Width 64” – 65”
6. Tensile Strength Warp 210 lbs (+/- 10%)
Filling 130 lbs (+/- 10%)
6. Shrinkage 3% maximum on warp 1% maximum on filling
7. Tear Strength Warp 8.8 lbs minimum Filling 7.6 lbs minimum
8. Shade Shade shall match USMA Standard Sample for this White cloth. The government shall determine acceptability of samples submitted after award. The government will provide USMA Standard Samples upon request from bidders.
9. Colorfastness No less than “good”. Must not yellow or darken with commercial laundering, Must maintain shade against heavy perspiration.
10. Finish Pre-cured soil release finish required.
11. Transparency Must show NO transparency when worn as finished garment after laundering.

14. Minimum Cuttable Width 62.75 inches
15. Packaging: Each piece of cloth shall be rolled onto a sufficiently sturdy and smooth commercial cardboard tube as to not crush in storage or shipping of the cloth. Exterior end of each roll shall be secured within the package as not to unroll or unfurl. Each roll shall be enclosed in a commercial clear tubular bag of polyethylene film or other suitable clear material to protect the cloth from soiling and degradation in shipping and storage. Bags shall be closed with mechanical ties (twist-ties or cable ties) of suitable weight to secure the closure of the bag through shipping and storage. A complete package of cloth shall weigh no more than 105 pounds.
16. Marking: Each roll shall have a Piece Ticket affixed to a selvage at the external end of the roll with a 5-ply minimum cotton string or a plastic tag hanger. The Piece Ticket shall have a reinforced eyelet and shall be legibly printed, using water insoluble ink, with the Cloth Description “C0053” and the linear yardage of the finished cloth on the roll.
a) The Piece ticket shall be affixed to the bag closure devise.
17. Identification Tag. Each clear tubular bag shall be marked with an Identification Tag. The
Identification Tag shall indicate the Contractor Name, Contractor address, Contract Number, Cloth Contents, the Cloth Description “C0053”, and the Linear Yardage of cloth contained therein. Contractor may choose to include on the Identification Tag additional information such as a “piece number” or other identification nomenclature for their purposes. Identification Tags shall have minimum dimensions of 2.4 inches x 4 inches and shall be completely legible as affixed to the bag.
a) The Identification Tag shall be affixed to the bag approximately 3” in from the selvage edge closest to the end of the bag, which is closed after insertion of the roll. (See Figure 2)
