ANSWERS TO OFFEROR QUESTIONS

1. Q: Will the new controllers use the "execution codes" developed my Mallory Engineering?

A: The answer to this question is both yes and no. If someone wants to develop and prove out codes to make the controllers work that would be up to them. However if not they would need to go to Mallory Engineering to obtain the codes. This should answer question 14.

2. Q: What is the CDACC and how does the new software need to be "compatible" with it?

A: The contractor needs to provide a way for the chamber to connect to the controller through a Cat 5 port on the control panel. The new controllers will not have any other remote control. This addresses question

3. Q: What type of "remote access capability" do the controllers need to have?

A:See answer to question #2

4. Q: Can I get a copy of (IAW) MIL‐STD‐810G and 810G Methods 501, 502, and 507?

A: The contractor can go on line and down load a copy of MIL‐STD‐810G with Change 1 to get copies of the required methods.

5. Q: What parts of the subsystem will already be in place (RTDs, humidity sensors, TCs, pressure gages, probes, etc)?

A:There are two different areas that will have the type of things being asked for in this question. One is the control section. Two is the test data collection section. For the control section the contractor is to provide the required type of sensors in accordance the paragraphs 4.7 through 4.10 of the Technical Requirements Document (TRD). It is through this section that the contractor will identify the required parts. This also should address questions 6 & 7.

6. Q: What is the Temperature Failsafe controller?

A: See paragraphs 4.4 of the TRD

7. Q: Can you provide specifications on the interface to the refrigeration systems?

A: See Answer to question 5

8. Q: Can you provide specifications on the current transducer interface to circulation fan, air heater, boiler, dehumidifier, air cooled condenser and three refrigeration compressors?

A: See Answer to question 5

9. Q: Do we need to provide a host computer for the HMI or will we use an existing computer?

A:No, you will use an existing computer.

10. Q: Do you have pictures/documentation of the existing system?

A: No

11. Q: What mechanical and electrical drawings are you expecting? This efforts seems to be almost entirely COTS items and software.

A: Drawings that show the wiring number, and location of the subsystems, temperature, humidity sensors, TCs, pressure gages, and probes, etc. This would be for both sections of the controller i.e. the control section and the data section

12. Q: Can I visit to see the existing system?

A: There is not enough time to plan and hold a site visit prior to the closing of the Solicitation.

13. Q: What are the "chamber operation profiles"? What type of profiles do these chambers need to run through?

A: See the TRD and MIL‐STD‐810G there are two basic types of profiles to run step and ramp.

14. Q: Can I get a copy of the current code?

A: No the codes belong to Mallory Engineering.

15. Q: Will we interface with existing sensors or are we responsible for purchasing and installing the sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, humidity sensors)?

A: Any of the items that are required for checking and operating any of the subsystems the contractor will be required to provide. But the control RTDs and Humidity will be the ones used in the chambers now as they are all new. The RTDs are a 3 wire and the humidity use a RTD 4 to 20 Mil Amp with a HMT337 Vaisala humidity probe.

16. Q: What are the specifics of the "data collections" functions?

A: Variable sampling from 1 second and up with graphic display and trending, and selectable graphicata views.
