Do you have a list of certified labs who conduct ASTM D 5312/D5321M and ASTM D 5313/D5313M tests?

On: Jul 19 2017.

Government Response. . A website with the current list of laboratories validated by the Corps of Engineers is provided in Section 35 31 19, paragraph 2.2.1.1.h. Once at the website, the list is included under "Related Documents". On: Jul 24 2017 Current Request Status: Request Closed

7075279 Civil C-102 & C-501 Comment Classification: Unclassified\\For Official Use Only (U\\FOUO)

C-102, notes 3&4 indicates the existing markers and bases will be removed and then placed back again when construction is nearly complete. C-501 gives the impression the Contractor is to provide new bases. Please clarify.

On: Jul 21 2017.

Government Response. . The navigation marker for the north breakwater has an existing concrete base however the navigation marker for the south breakwater does not. A new concrete base is required for the south breakwater marker. On: Jul 24 2017 Current Request Status: Request Closed

7084053 Construction Management C.102 Note #8 N/A Comment Classification: Unclassified\\For Official Use Only (U\\FOUO)

I am contacting you concerning the Chignik Harbor Breakwater Repairs specifically regarding a question about possible use of the breakwater. It is noted that the plans for this project indicate that the breakwater is not to be used or disturbed by equipment, my question is as follows:

Can the breakwater be employed for the project if a matting system is employed on the top of the breakwater for equipment to use and to prevent any disturbance of the breakwater?

On: Jul 27 2017.

Government Response. . Safety and further damage to the existing breakwaters are of primary concern since some of the armor stone can be crumbled by hand. For purposes of preparing a bid, assume no equipment will be allowed on the crest of the breakwaters. On: Jul 31 2017 Current Request Status: Request Closed

7086197 Civil C102 Comment Classification: Unclassified\\For Official Use Only (U\\FOUO)

Note 3 says the Contractor needs to move the nav markers. On the North Breakwater there is also a wind gauge anchored in several places. Will the Contractor be responsible to remove/replace that as well?

(Attachment: DSCF1750.pdf) On: Jul 28 2017.

Government Response. . The gauge on the north breakwater is a Tsunami Early Warning System tide gauge and will be removed by NOAA prior to construction. The contractor will not be responsible for removal or reinstallation of the gauge. On: Jul 31 2017 Current Request Status: Request Closed

7091640 Civil C-102 Note 8 Comment Classification: Unclassified\\For Official Use Only (U\\FOUO)

This note and a ProjNet answer says the contractor can not have equipment on the crest of the breakwater. Will the contractor be allowed to operate equipment and temporarily store rock on existing lower benches of riprap or B rock?

If so, could Contractor add a thin leveling course to aid this use?

On: Aug 02 2017.

Government Response. . The contractor may operate equipment and temporarily stockpile material on the existing lower benches of the breakwaters at its own risk. For bidding purposes, assume the use of leveling course material will not be allowed. The contractor may submit a plan for utilizing leveling course material for review and approval after award however approval will be dependent upon the plan proposed and is not guaranteed. 7091651 Civil C-102 Note 10 Comment Classification: Unclassified\\For Official Use Only (U\\FOUO)

As follow up on a question at the prebid conference regarding "Where rock is call out to be placed below MLLW, a single stone layer is acceptable as necessary for construction", I believe the clarification was that it was assumed the slope may be too steep for 2 layers, so plan on one layer as shown on drawings. Please confirm.

On: Aug 02 2017.

Government Response. . The original Note 10 on C-102 has been deleted as part of Amendment 0001.

One layer of armor rock is required between 0.0 and -10 feet Mean Lower Low Water as shown on the plans. On: Aug 04 2017 Current Request Status: Request Closed

7091665 Civil C-102 Comment Classification: Unclassified\\For Official Use Only (U\\FOUO)

As described in the prebid, a third party post construction survey will be required. Will preconstruction project stationing be required by a third party surveyor or will contractor/government on site personnel be able to locate limits close enough for determining the start and stop of armor details?

On: Aug 02 2017.

Government Response. . The contractor is only required to provide the Government with a post construction survey however the contractor shall conduct any additional surveys deemed necessary to construct the project within the required placement limits. No survey information will be provided by the Government. On: Aug 04 2017 Current Request Status: Request Closed

Hello, I didn't see any DBE material associated with the Galena Campion Road Beaver Creek Culvert Replacement May 2013 ER Flooding 64066 project. Is there a DBE utilization requirement for this job? Is there a good faith effort required on this project?
