W50S77-20-R-7100 Questions and Answers
AV System
1. Contractor requests a floor plan, is one available? If yes, please provide. Please see attached.
2. Will there be sound reinforcement or presentation only? No microphone is needed for the presenter. Presentation/program sound as we will need to present video and audio. It will need to be loud enough so that the audience at the back of the room can hear clearly. Absolutely NO wireless or Bluetooth enabled equipment is allowed. Equipment and speakers should be wired only.
1. Rooms 117, 116 and 122 mention one of the sources being a CD/DVD/Blu-ray capable player. Where will this reside in these rooms? Yes, the device will reside in the room. We need the inputs’ to be easily accessible within the room.
2. Rooms 117, 116 and 122 mention multiple computers inputs. Can you please clarify how many computer inputs are needed and the location of them? Four inputs and if possible upgradable to six inputs. Inputs will be one HDMI, two DVI-D and one display port. Future upgrade input will be two DVI-D
3. Rooms 117, 116, and 122 mention Thinklogical velocity video extension as a source. Please verify this is coming off the existing Thinklogical router? Where is the location of this existing router? What are the current sources connected to the router? Yes, it is coming from the Thinklogical VX 160 with LC MM fiber connector. The VX160 is located in rm 133
4. How many different sources need to be displayed from the existing Thinklogical KVM at the same time in room 128? From the VX 160 (rm133) it will be two LC MM fiber (one high & on low). From RM 128 there will be two desktop computer with display ports out and a blu-ray player with HDMI out.
5. In Room 128 is podium microphone needed? No, microphone is not needed
6. In Room 128 are ceiling speakers needed for program sound from computer sources and DVD/BluRay player? Yes, multiple speakers are needed to play nominal sound throughout rm
7. In Room 128 is podium computer input needed for local presentations? Yes, from question 4;
From RM 128 there will be two desktop computer with display ports out and a blu-ray player with HDMI out.
1. Does the government need the contractor to relocate power for the displays. All electrical work will be done by system installer. Coordination with CE is required.
2. Does the government require TAA compliant monitors without wireless capability? YES
3. Does the government request a fiber solution for video matrix and KVM switching? YES, in rm 128; In SOW par 1
4. What resolution does the switching system need to support 1080P or 4K In SOW par 1 subpar 1.1.6, 4K
5. How many PCs does the solution need to support Four inputs and if possible upgradable to six inputs. Inputs will be one HDMI, two DVI-D and one display port. Future upgrade input will be two DVI-D
1. Do we need to provide an HDMI laptop input at the conference table? In SOW par 1 sub par 1.1.2; yes
2. Will there be a GFE room dedicated PC in the equipment rack? No, the PCs will be in the same
rm. If so will there need to be separate ones for SIPR and JWICS? If one rack could suffice the physical separations of both system low and high side computers 50cm or 1M and fiber 5cm separation.
3. Is there a preference for ceiling pendant microphone or table microphones to support both audio and video conferencing? Either option is acceptable but microphone should be able to be unplugged if the need arises.
4. Is the signage going to say SIPR or JWICS and note if the audio is muted or active? No sign is required
B. 1.1.1. “The video wall shall be capable of displaying local operator displays (ie, extension of desktop views from consoles located in the adjoining Rm 129), other local/internal systems, and remote/external sources.” QUESTION: There is no mention anywhere else about rm 129. Knowing the exact number, type of signal, and location of ALL inputs feeding the system in rm 128 be critical to putting together a functional and cost effective system for the Government. How many, what type, and where will the inputs come from? Inputs from 128 are from the wall termination; LC MM fiber for low and SC MM fiber for high. Both fibers will be from the VX 160

1.1.1.1.1. CD/DVD/Blu-ray capable (secure). QUESTION: Is this to be new equipment or Government provided (GFE)? If new, what are the minimum specifications? This will be new equipment.
1.1.1.1.2. Multiple computer inputs. QUESTION: How many, what type, and where will the inputs come from? Four inputs and if possible upgradable to six inputs. Inputs will be one HDMI, two DVI-D and one display port. Future upgrade input will be two DVI-D
1.1.1.1.3. Thinklogical velocity video extension systems. QUESTION: There is no mention of Thinklogical equipment elsewhere. Please provide a parts list: All video output is coming from the VX 160. There will be no other equipment that will be provided by the site. New equipment is needed to work with the VX 160.
C. QUESTION: What are the ceiling heights and wall composition? Ceilings are 9 ft.
wall construction is standard dry wall with steel stud constructions.
1. Can you please specify the total number of video inputs (ref 1.1.6.1.2) Four inputs and if possible upgradable to six inputs. Inputs will be one HDMI, two DVI-D and one display port. Future upgrade input will be two DVI-D
2. Can you give more clarification of external device control mentioned in 1.1.2.1 The controller will be provided by the contractors. It will control all functions in rm 128. It will control the video wall of three monitor and the fourth at the back. It will also control the audio input and play the audio. It must be touch screen control.
