About this file

This statement of work outlines requirements for the procurement of a vector network analyzer by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center. The vendor will provide a rack-mounted vector network analyzer capable of testing 50 Ohm transmission line circuits up to 9 GHz, with at least 1 MHz to 8 GHz operation, 150 dB dynamic range, output power from -60 dBm to +15 dBm, and 2 port measurements of scattering matrix parameters S11, S21, S12, and S22. The analyzer is to be delivered within 2 months of receipt of order to the Goddard Space Flight Center, with the period of performance concluding upon delivery by November 31, 2023.

STATEMENT OF WORK FORMAT

Procurement of Vector Network Analyzer for Testing of Superconducting Cryogenic Detectors

31 July 2023

PR: _____________________

Background The Observational Cosmology Lab of the Goddard Space Flight Center develops far-infrared, sub-millimeter, and microwave detectors and instruments for NASA astrophysics missions. Kinetic inductance detectors (KIDs) and transition-edge-sensor (TES) bolometers for astrophysics applications can be microwave multiplexed to allow 1000 or more detectors to be readout out on a single coaxial cable. A vector network analyzer (VNA) is essential for testing of KID and TES microwave readout chains with frequencies up to 8 GHz

Scope

The vendor will provide a rack-mounted VNA for testing 50 Ohm transmission line circuits up to 9 GHz, along with the required calibration kit and cabling.

Requirements

At least 1 MHz to 8 GHz operation.

150 dB dynamic range.

Output power from -60 dBm to +15 dBm 2 port measurements of scattering matrix parameters S11, S21, S12, and S22

Deliverables or Delivery Schedule

The VNA is to be delivered within 2 months of receipt of order.

Government-Furnished Equipment and Government-Furnished Information N/A

Place of Performance

The VNA will be operated at the Goddard Space Flight Center.

Period of Performance

The work is finished when the VNA is delivered and no later than 11/31/2023.
