PWS (VA PALO ALTO)

PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS)

VINYL COMPOSITION TILE (VCT) STRIPPING AND SEALING

1.) BACKGROUND

The VA Palo Alto Health Care System has Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) flooring in buildings throughout 5 different campuses: Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Livermore, Monterey, San Jose. Many areas with VCT flooring are in emergency need of restoration. With the current healthcare environment and presence of COVID-19, the VCT in the public and patient hallway areas in

Building 100 of Palo Alto VA Healthcare system need attention.

The porous nature of VCT needs to be stripped of wax and sealed with a high-performance coating to prevent the spread of bacterial and viral infections.

Conventional stripping and waxing is not an effective option for the current state of the VCT flooring in Building 100. Stripping and waxing does not provide sufficient sanitization and long term protection for these public used areas.

There is approximately 50,000 square feet (ft2) of VCT Flooring. The requirement will service the following areas:

Building 100

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Floors (Approximately 12,500 sqft per floor)

Public used hallways and patient wing VCT flooring
