Region: BIA Western Regional Office, Phoenix, AZ
Agency/Tribe: Western Nevada Agency– Walker River Indian Irrigation Project
General
The Walker River Indian Irrigation Project has approximately 50 Miles of Canals. Theses canals have Nero roads along them ISOs are required to drive these canals for many reasons including but not limited to checking canals for debris, looking for leaks or cracks in canals, driving them to control irrigation system and turnout gates. They must do this in all elements, rain, sleet, mud, cold, heat etc. Having a fully enclosed UTV will make navigation safer for these duties on a daily basis than driving a full-sized pickup in many areas.
