Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Renewal of Instrument Maintenance Contract
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: Yearly renewal of a maintenance contract of Agilent LC/MS System. Contract needed to prevent stoppages of data collection.
2.0 Background: The Agilent G6230 High Performance Liquid Chromatograph linked to an Agilent 6230 Time of Flight Mass Spectrophotometer (HPLC-TOF-MS) is a high value instrument used for the analysis of food samples by the Food Science and Market Quality and Handling Research Unit. Yearly maintenance is needed to prevent loss of service. The contract saves the cost of direct calls for service and has been renewed yearly since 2019. It is expected that this will be required to extend the life of the instrument.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:
· The contractor must provide a qualified service technician to perform one yearly preventative maintenance visit and on call service as needed for instrument malfunctions.
· The service technician must perform the yearly preventative maintenance visit and replace all tubing, fittings, and the detector lamp, clean the mass source and service the high-pressure vacuum pump without additional charges. On call visits must occur within 7 working days of the request, but the unit will be charged for replacement of consumable parts if needed.
· All parts replaced must be new factory parts from Agilent Technologies. After performance of any repair or maintenance, a report of the reference ion peaks must be within 2% of the instrument specifications. A printed report must be provided.
· The contractor must supply a trained service technician capable of performing an needed maintenance and repair of the Agilent HPCL-TOF-MS. The technician must be able to access any needed parts and supplies. The technician must provide any tools needed to do repairs and maintenance. The technician must communicate with USDA laboratory personnel as to any changes made. No supervision or guidance as to the performance of the work will be provided.by USDA laboratory personnel. A written report must be provided showing that the instrument has passed all Hitachi required parameters after repairs or maintenance is complete.
4.0 Government Furnished: The service technician assigned by the contractor will be required to have access to Room 219A in Schaub Hall on the campus of North Carolina State University during normal business hours.

6.0 Travel: All travel of the service technician will be the responsibility of the contractor with no additional charges to the Government.
