STATEMENT OF WORK
Purchase and Installation of New Medium-Sized Autoclave; Removal of Old Autoclave
Toxicology & Mycotoxin Research Unit
USNRPC
GENERAL
SCOPE OF WORK.
The purpose of this SOW is to purchase a new medium-sized steam sterilizer (autoclave) for the Toxicology & Mycotoxin Research Unit in the U.S. National Poultry Research Center at 950 College Station Rd Athens, GA 30605. Purchase will include removal of the current 40-year-old autoclave from Building 1 Room PSB7 and installation of the new unit in the same location. The old autoclave will be stored in a nearby loading bay. TMRU will work with the Center regarding final disposal or recycling of the old unit.
Electrical requirements:
The new autoclave must be configured for 3-phase, 208-volt electrical supply.
Required specifications for new autoclave:
· The new autoclave must be a medium sized unit with a sterilizer chamber that is 26” wide, 37.5” tall, and 66” deep.
· Overall dimensions of the autoclave need to be approximately 54” wide, 75” tall, and 82” deep.
· The unit must come with a carriage and loading car that slides into the autoclave chamber to facilitate bulk loading.
· Single, manual hinged door; right-hand hinged; door must have a fast-operating, low-effort door lock mechanism (no rotating wheel).
· Electronic digital color touch screen with non-fading impact printer.
· Flash memory permanently stores up to 20 programed cycles.
· Must have a vacuum pump to pull the sterilizer chamber to a specified vacuum level. This feature reduces water consumption by the unit.
The following work will be performed as part of the purchase:
1. Deinstall the old autoclave unit and move it to a specified location.
1. Installation of new autoclave in the same location as the old unit. All necessary labor and materials provided by the vendor.
1. Uncrate equipment on site and inspect for damage.
1. Assemble the unit in place, including necessary plumbing and electrical. If assistance is needed from on-site operations, this will be coordinated ahead of installation.
1. Make all air, steam, water, and drain connections from building.
1. Make all electrical connections from building.
PHYSICAL SECURITY. Contractor will be required to follow all USDA physical security and safety rule/regulations.
HOURS OF OPERATION. Normal Hours. The USNPRC is open Monday through Friday from 8am until 4pm except for Government holidays.
GOVERNMENT-FURNISHED PROPERTY AND SERVICES
No Government-furnished property will be provided. Government-furnished utilities will be provided where available.
CONTRACTOR-FURNISHED ITEMS AND SERVICES
GENERAL. Contractor shall furnish everything required to perform this Statement of Work.
CLEAN-UP. The Contractor is responsible for cleanup of any work site. USNPRC will dispose of packing materials.
