ATTACHMENT 1: Technical Evaluation Criteria
The Government will award a contract resulting from this requirement on the basis of best value, technical factors and price considered. Technical factors together shall be considered more important than price and all technical evaluation factors are detailed below: The proposal should be no longer than 3 pages, excluding key personnel resume(s)/curriculum vitae.
Factor 1: Technical Approach (30 Points)
The Sona 4.2B model from Olympus Inc provides the perfect balance of sensitivity, speed and resolution for optimal imaging performance across many applications. The 4.2 Megapixel format with 6.5 µm pixels is ideally suited to the widely used 40x and 60x magnifications. It has the latest most sensitive back-illuminated sCMOS technology with 95% Quantum Efficiency (QE). It has low noise correlated multi-Sampling. It also has Magnifying Coupler Unit (MCU) as well as Extended Dynamic Range and Superb Linearity.
Factor 2: Key Personnel (30 Points)
N.A.
Factor 3: Past Performance (40 Points)
Our lab has several microscopes and lasers from Olympus Inc. They all meet our needs and work quiet well. This camera will also be connected to one of our Olympus microscopes.
Technical proposals will be evaluated using a summary adjectival rating in accordance with the following scale:
Excellent (90 – 100) Very Good (80 – 89) Good (70 – 79) Fair (60 – 69) Poor (0 – 59)
Excellent We need high performance camera to look to excite voltage sensors, initially in vitro on an Olympus patch rig and then potentially on our two-photon setup. We have a few sensors to test, they excite at 637nm, and 530 nm or so. We need the camera which provides the perfect balance of sensitivity, speed and resolution for optimal imaging performance. Sona has highest QE value and cooled sCMOS. At the same time, it is important that we need the camera to fit our microscope (Olympus BXWI), so we choose the Sona 4.2B camera from Olympus. This Product is further considered very low risk in that it is exceptionally meet our needs. Risk Level: Very Low
