STATEMENT OF WORK

STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

FOR

Sta Michigan City Winter Storm Elliott Repairs Version control of the SOW is extremely important because the document is a work in progress until the program office accepts it as “final” and the Contracting Officer approves it as “final.” It is highly recommended that some form of version numbering, including the date of the revision, be included on the original and all subsequent SOW revisions. This can be done as a header or footer. However, prior to releasing the SOW with the solicitation, the Contracting Officer should replace the header/footer version number with the word “Final” and include the date of the solicitation release on the SOW.

1.0 GENERAL

1.1 Background

On 23DEC22 Winter Storm Elliott came through Michigan City, bringing with it winds in excess of 40 knots and temperaures of -20*F. During this storm the stations boilers, for the heating system, experienced a failure and where shut down for a period of time. While the heating system was down the internal temperature of the building dropped to below freezing which led to multiple pipes being frozen, including the fire suppression system, potable water and HVAC system. Once the heating system was able to be brought back on line and pipes started thawing, cracked/ruptured pipes began to reveal themselves. This resulted in water damage in the OIC office, TPO office, as well as Comms.

1.2 Scope

The scope of work consists of acquiring materials so the unit can utilize the Sector DCs for a self-help project. Materials would include flooring, dry wall, plumbing, ceiling tiles, etc. We also had Johnson Controls do the troubleshooting of our HVAC System where they identified numerous issues that need to be addressed. Those include pressure valves and gauges, boiler service, glycol/water mixture flush and refill, as well as replacing the old control unit for the entire HVAC system.

1.3 OBJECTIVE

The objective is to repair the damages that were incurred during Winter Storm Elliott and also safeguard the unit from further troubles of the same nature.
