About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines NASA's requirement for fabricating custom copper heat straps for a "Mercury" cryostat. The contractor will create copper heat straps using Copper 101 machined parts welded to copper ropes/braids, with all assemblies to be annealed for the final product. The specific purpose is to establish a thermal link between a Cryomech cryocooler and instrument cold plates.
The project is to be completed within a 16-week performance period and will be executed at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) located at 8800 Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt, Maryland, specifically in Code 665, Building 34, Room E346. The SOW provides clear specifications for the heat strap fabrication, emphasizing the technical requirements of welding, machining, and annealing copper components to meet the precise thermal conductivity needs of the cryostat system.
