About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines NASA's GeneLab project requirements for RNA sequencing reagents and flow cells. The project aims to increase the utility of omics data from biological spaceflight experiments by maintaining an open-access repository and generating additional data from unused spaceflight materials. Specific requirements include Illumina sequencing reagents compatible with NovaSeq 6000, NextSeq 100, and iSeq 100 systems, including iSeq 100 i1 Reagent v2 (8-pack), NovaSeq 6000 S4 and SP Reagent Kits, and TruSeq Stranded mRNA and Total RNA Library Prep kits for 96 samples.

The contractor will provide partial delivery of reagents according to an agreed shipping schedule, with performance beginning 15 days after award. The delivery location is NASA Ames Research Center, N288 Rm 177. The reagents are specifically designed for RNA sequencing from various spaceflight mission tissues, with capabilities to capture mRNA, deplete rRNA, and prepare libraries for genomic analysis across human, mouse, and rat samples.

STATEMENT OF WORK - Sequencing reagents and flow cells

1. Objective/Requirements

The NASA GeneLab project is a BPS (Biological and Physical Sciences) effort to increase the utility and volume of omics data (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, genomics) generated from biological spaceflight experiments. The GeneLab project accomplishes this in part by: 1) by maintaining an open access repository of spaceflight relevant omics data to maximize its use; 2) by generating additional omics data from unused spaceflight material.

GeneLab is generating RNA-sequencing from various tissues from spaceflight missions. To support the sequencing, GeneLab requires:

Reagents

a. Be compatible with the Illumina NovaSeq 6000, NextSeq100, Iseq100

b. iSeq 100 i1 Reagent v2 (300-cycle) 8 pack - Kitted reagents for up to 322 cycles of sequencing on the iSeq 100 system. Includes 8 cartridges with paired end reagents and 8 iSeq 100 i1 flow cells.

a. NovaSeq 6000 S4 Reagent Kit v1.5 (300 cycles) - This reagent kit provides one NovaSeq S4 flow cell (with 4-lanes) and reagent consumables to support a single flow cell 300 cycles run on the NovaSeq 6000.

b. NovaSeq 6000 SP Reagent Kit v1.5 (500 cycles) - This reagent kit provides the flow cell and reagent consumables to support a single flow cell 500 cycles NovaSeq run.

c. TruSeq Stranded mRNA Library Prep (96 Samples) - This component contains the RNA purification beads to capture mRNA, the PCR master mix to transcript mRNA into cDNA for 96 samples

d. TruSeq® Stranded Total RNA Library Prep Gold (96 Samples) - This component contains the RiboZero beads to deplete rRNA and mtrRNA from Human, Mouse, Rat as well as the PCR master mix to transcript RNA into cDNA for 96 samples.
