About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the procurement of a micro x-ray source for imaging defects in thin-walled, additively-manufactured metallic structures. The government seeks a highly specialized x-ray source with specific technical requirements, including a voltage range of 40-130kV, current of 10-300 µA, maximum power of 39W, and a focal spot size of maximum 10um. The contractor must manufacture and supply one x-ray source unit, perform factory acceptance testing, and deliver technical documentation including operation manuals, interface control drawings, and safety guidelines by April 17th, 2026.
The SOW outlines two primary tasks: manufacturing the x-ray source meeting the detailed technical specifications and conducting pre-shipment performance verification. Deliverables include the hardware unit, technical documentation, and test data with a certificate of conformance. Key milestones include order acknowledgement within one week of receipt, pre-shipment verification/testing, and final delivery and acceptance at the destination. No government-furnished property or information is required for this off-the-shelf procurement.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1.0 Introduction/Background
The purpose of this effort is to procure a micro x-ray source to be used for imaging defects inside thin-walled, additively-manufactured, metallic structures. High-resolution x-ray capability is required to ensure the structural integrity and quality assurance of these metallic components. This procurement addresses the need for an x-ray source to support non-destructive testing requirements.
2.0 Scope of Work
This Statement of Work covers the procurement, fabrication (if applicable), and delivery of one (1) micro x-ray source. The contractor shall ensure the hardware meets the specific size, power, and resolution performance metrics defined herein.
3.0 Objectives
The objective of this requirement is to acquire a micro x-ray source that combines high voltage and power with a small spot size to enable precise defect detection. The successful delivery of this hardware will allow for the detailed inspection of thin-walled metallic parts.
4.0 Description of the Work/Contractor Tasks
The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, equipment, and materials to deliver a micro x-ray source meeting the technical specifications listed below.
4.1 Technical Specifications
The micro x-ray source must meet or exceed the following performance criteria:
Voltage: range 40 - 130kV Current: 10 – 300 µA Max Power: 39W Focal Spot Size: Maximum 10um Cone Angle: 45 - 53 degrees Focus to Object Distance: 7 – 15 mm Form Factor: The source design must be as compact as possible to facilitate integration into restricted spaces.
4.2 Tasks
Task 1: Manufacture/Supply one (1) micro x-ray source meeting the specifications in Section 4.1.
Task 2: Perform factory acceptance testing to verify performance metrics (kV, Wattage, Spot Size) prior to shipment.
5.0 Deliverables
The Contractor shall provide the following deliverables to the Government/Buyer:
Deliverable Description
Micro X-Ray Source Hardware unit meeting specifications in Section 4.0.
Technical Documentation
Operation manuals, interface control drawings, and safety guidelines.
Test Data Certificate of Conformance and final test data verifying voltage, power, and spot size.
* Hardware should be delivered no later than April 17th, 2026. *
6.0 Other Considerations
6.1 Milestones
The following milestones will be monitored to ensure timely completion11:
Milestone 1: Order Acknowledgement (1 week After Receipt of Order).
Milestone 2: Pre-shipment verification/testing.
Milestone 3: Final Delivery and Acceptance at destination.
6.2 Government-Furnished Property/Information
Property: None. No Government property will be furnished to the contractor12.
Information: None. No Government information is required for this off-the-shelf procurement13.
