STATEMENT OF NEED
The requirements for the sequencer include:
1. Produces a throughput per run of up to 15Gb per 2 x 300bp. The number of reads per single read runs, must be in excess of 20,000.
2. Produces accurate variant detection through SBS chemistry
3. An instrument that has the capabilities of integrating amplification, sequencing, and data analysis, with an 8hr turn-around time from DNA to direct variant reporting.
5. The resulting DNA sequences must be available in FASTQ files with average base quality scores greater than Q30 (out of a Q40 scale) in more than 70% of the bases for the paired-end 300 bp runs. Options should also be available for exporting data as txt, BAM, or VCF files.
6. Has to have physical specifications of less than 2 square feet, on 120V power, and weigh no more than 120 pounds. No additional computer required
7. The instrument must have a controller with enough disk storage space for at least 30 runs (estimated at 15 Gb/run). The controller must have sufficient RAM for analyses, at least 16 Gb.
8. Reagents cartridge must be, RFID enabled.
9. The offeror must include at least 5 peer reviewed references.
10. Applications include but aren’t limited to:
· Whole-genome resequencing
· Targeted resequencing including
· TruSeq custom enrichment
· TruSeq custom amplicon sequencing
· Long-Range PCR
· Molecular inversion probes
· De novo sequencing
· Mate-Pair sequencing for libraries with 2-5kb insert sizes.
11. The equipment should come with installation and initial training along with 1 year of comprehensive warranty including full coverage for parts, labor, travel; one preventive maintenance visit, unlimited technical support and software updates.
12. Option year of a comprehensive service plan that includes:
full coverage for parts, labor, and travel; reagent replacement upon instrument failures; one PM; remote Technical Support 5 x 18; 2-business day onsite response target; control hardware/software updates; onsite applications support; and discounts on advanced training.
Required Items Brand Name or Equal: Equipment will be based on the equivalent of the Illumina, MiSeq Sequencer and related equipment. Items quoted must meet or exceed the specifications listed above.
