Statement of Work for Toptica Photonics Inc.

PR: _____________________

Note: Only use the sections that are applicable to your service procurement.

Background The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is currently in the process of developing TRL6 lasers for the Laser Interferometry Space Antenna (LISA Project). To accomplish this task, necessary support equipment is needed to ensure that the hardware is meeting mission stability requirements. In order to make critical measurements of the laser’s performance, NASA’s Code 554 at Goddard Space Flight Center will be procuring a wavelength meter with accessories and a iodine stabilized laser from Toptica Photonics Inc. for a total of $159,960.00.

Scope Items shall meet or exceed the following requirements:

1. A wavemeter (HF-ANGS WS8+1X2PCSIR) with the following capabilities

a. measurement range: 630-1750 nm

b. absolute accuracy of 630 to 800 nm: ± 10 MHz & 800 to 1750 nm: ± 8 MHz

c. Photonic Crystal Switch with two input channels (1x2), which is single mode in the range of 630-1750 nm

d. Based on a solid state Fizeau interferometer – capable of continuous and pulsed laser measurements, fiber coupled inputs, with no moving parts.

e. Sensitive CCD Detectors for low light applications

f. High Speed USB 2.0 interface

This system will also have the following accessories (line items listed on attached quote):

- Line Width Measurement (HF-LWE 7 – line item “30”). >100MHz, up to 6 GHz (wide). With accuracy of 100 MHz but not better than 20 % of the linewidth.

- Rack mountable (HF-RACK – line item “40”)

- 1532 nm calibration laser (HF-1532nm CAL LASER – line item “50”)

Wavelength:1532 nm, Absolute accuracy: ± 2 MHz, Output power: 0-7 mW, Self (re-)calibration, Fiber coupled laser output

2. A iodine-stabilized laser source (HF-ND:YAG) with the following capabilities:

a. Nominal output wavelength 532 nm & 1064 nm

b. Absolute accuracy: ± 100 kHz

c. Power > 5 mW at both wavelengths (free beam)

d. Mode distribution TEM00q

e. Relative frequency stability (t > 1 s) 1e-10

f. Relative frequency reproducibility: not worse than 2e-10

g. Tuning range at 532 nm: 700 GHz

h. Temperature tuning rate: - 20 GHz/ °C

i. FSR ~ 2.5 GHz

j. Operational bandwidth of PZT-F DC: 30 kHz

k. Sensitivity of PZT-S (at 532 nm) 10 MHz/V

Deliverables or Delivery Schedule Period of performance: September, 2020 (dependent of time of purchase) to January 31, 2021 (14-16 weeks after purchase).
