STATEMENT OF WORK

February 6, 2023

Purpose:

The purpose of this acquisition is to renew the license agreements for continued access to the First Databank (FDB) data.

Background:

FDB is a publisher of pharmaceutical information that is used within healthcare information systems serving hospitals, physician practices, other providers, payers, retail pharmacies, state health programs and others for the purpose of medication decision support and negotiating reimbursement rates paid to pharmacies and other providers. FDB data include a complete line of drug databases, including clinical decision support, disease suite modules, and stand-alone PC products. These data also include descriptive drug information, drug pricing, and drug identification. CMS uses the FDB files for intramural research and analysis projects related to Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Task:

FDB will renew CMS’s license for the FDB data files for three years. As part of this license renewal, FDB will provide data files to CMS via a secure website on a weekly basis and allow the data to be used for up to 10 projects for each year.
