STATEMENT OF WORK/REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT

Title: Purchase of Vibration Isolation Optical Table System Requesting Lab: NIST, Physical Measurement Division

I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

NIST seeks to purchase a Vibration Isolation Optical Table System to mount two refractometry apparatus we are constructing. This will be located in a NIST laboratory cleanroom.

Purpose/Objective: We are building two complementary refractometry apparatuses. One is based on the prism-coupling method, using a recently purchase Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO) laser as a continuously-variable wavelength source. The other is based on an original interferometric time-of-flight method, using low coherence light sources. All these components will be mounted on a single optical table that will require substantial vibration isolation. We intend to purchase a Vibration Isolation Optical Table System that is large enough to fit both systems and which has vibration isolation suitable for interferometry.

II. SCOPE

The Contractor shall deliver a quantity of (1) Vibration Isolation Optical Table System, inclusive of FOB Destination delivery and warranty.

III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The Contractor shall provide a system that meets all technical specifications identified below. All items must be new. Used or remanufactured equipment will not be considered for award. Experimental, prototype, or custom items will not be considered. The use by the Contractor of “gray market” components that are not authorized for sale in the U.S. is not acceptable. All line items shall be shipped in the original manufacturer’s packaging and include all original documentation and software, when applicable.

The Contractor shall provide quantity (1) Vibration Isolation Optical Table System which meets or exceeds the following minimum specifications, including FOB destination:
