About this file

This statement of work describes two 250kW DC power supplies required by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Glenn Research Center. The power supplies will enhance testing capabilities at both the D-SITE and NEAT facilities by enabling the exchange of identical hardware between the locations and allowing technicians to support a common set of equipment. Key deliverables include two 250kW DC power supplies and supporting hardware to interconnect them in series or parallel by the required delivery date of 22 weeks from award. The specifications in the statement of work are for matching power supplies already used at the NEAT facility. The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice of intent to sole source the DC power supply procurement under solicitation number 80GRC023Q0004 for the NASA Glenn Research Center.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Two DC Power Supplies

1.0 Introduction/ Background: The NASA Electric Aircraft Testbed (NEAT) is a test facility at Armstrong Test Facility (ATF) that allows the testing of high-power equipment for eventual use in hybrid-electric aircraft systems. The D-SITE is a sub-megawatt electrical powertrain test facility at the Armstrong Test Facility that is supporting electrified aircraft propulsion technology development. It is one of the only facilities in the world that is able to test high-power systems and components under simulated altitude conditions.

NEAT is expanding its power capability to test high power components required for hybrid-electric flight. This procurement is for 2 (two) power supplies, which will enhance the existing capabilities between the D-SITE and NEAT facility.

2.0 Scope of Work: This procurement is for two (2) 250kW DC Power Supplies. The power supplies are identical to the power supplies currently being used at the NASA NEAT facility.

3.0 Objectives: The current order is for the same power supplies that are used at the NASA NEAT facility. This will enable the exchange of hardware between the D-SITE and NEAT facility to enable increased test throughput for both facilities. This will also allow for technicians to have a common set of hardware to support and ease of training.

4.0 Description:

• A DC power supply with the following features:

• SCPI Remote Programming API

• High Accuracy Measurements

• Master-Slave Functionality

• Remote Sensing

• 37-Pin External User I/O

• RS232 Interface

• Ethernet and GPIB Available

• 0-10V External Analog Inputs

• Programmable Protection Limits

• Fast Transient Response

• Remote Interface Software

• NI LabVIEW™ and IVI Driver

• Interlock Shutdown Input

• Designed and manufactured in the USA

5.0 Deliverables: The deliverables for this procurement are two (2) 250 kW DC power supplies and two supporting hardware systems to interconnect the power supplies in either a series or parallel configuration.

Required Delivery Date of the hardware is 22 weeks from award.
