Biosolids Disposal Services, Shenandoah National Park, 2023

BACKGROUND

Shenandoah National Park operates two tertiary treatment extended aeration sewage treatment plants with drying beds. The drying beds are used to dry consolidated slurry of biosolids. The solids are dried to a very low moisture content and then loaded into a storage bunker at Big Meadows Wastewater Treatment Plant.
