Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Concrete Slab for Containerized Lab

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work: Provide a concrete foundation for a containerized 40’ laboratory with a water barrier to exclude crawling insects to enter building and 4’ sidewalk.

2.0 Background: This foundation will provide a solid foundation for the 40’ containerized laboratory. This container will be used to cultivate plants imported under an APHIS Controlled Import Permit.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:

o Contractor shall provide the labor and materials to construct reinforced concrete slab set above grade.

o Ground will be leveled with base coarse and high enough to avoid water run off entering the building.

o Concrete shall have a minimum thickness of 6” and level.

o Concrete shall have a reinforced wire mesh.

o Concrete shall have a minimum strength rating of 2500 PSI.

o Concrete slab will have an inner area of 45 ft x 8 ft surrounded by a 6” deep x 6” wide water moat surrounded by a 4’ wide sidewalk.

o Water moat will be made of or coated with solid, impervious, and waterproof material that can hold at least 4’ of water.

o Conduit pipe to be installed in concrete slab for electricity and water.

o Contractor shall provide all the necessary excavation/fill and compaction requirements to meet concrete construction specifications.

o Concrete surface shall have a brush finish to prevent slipping.

o Contractor shall remove all excess material and debris from site.

4.0 Government Furnished:

o The Government will furnish a reasonable amount of water.

o Electricity if not readily available in construction area.

o Facility will be open from 7 am to 5 pm daily except for Federal holidays.

o The completion time 30 days after notice to proceed (NTP).
