STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENTS
Jet Mill (aka a pancake mill)
I. SPECIFICATIONS
The Contractor shall provide a complete jet milling system that meets or exceeds the following requirements:
· The jet mill shall be able to process at least 40 lbs per hour.
· The jet mill shall pulverize materials to a 10 micron or smaller size.
· The jet mill shall have an intake where a hopper/feeder can drop the material into the mill.
· The jet mill shall be constructed of stainless steel on the outside, and A2 tool steel on the inner part of the mill, with liners that can be added to include PTFE, Urethane, and stainless steel.
· The Jet mill shall include liners of each type.
· The jet mill shall be user friendly to set up and change out the liners.
· The jet mill shall use a bottom collecting chamber to collect the processed material. The bottom collecting container must be stainless steel and hold 5-10 gallons of material at one time.
· The jet mill shall use a system that prevents blow back.
· The jet mill shall be able to run on 100 psi air.
· The jet mill shall use a bag or other method to avoid dust from entering the processing area.
· The jet mill shall run on standard 115V power.
· The Contractor shall provide (1) one operations and maintenance manual.
II. DELIVERY
The Jet Mill including operations manual, shall be delivered within 120 days to NISTs Dock in Gaithersburg, MD. Delivery will occur during normal business hours defined as Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm, except for Federal Holidays.
III. TRAINING
The Contractor shall provide onsite training at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, for up to three (3) NIST personnel covering normal operation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. Training shall be provided during the hours, of 8:30am and 5:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except Federal Holidays, and shall be coordinated with the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) to ensure maximum availability of NIST personnel. Training shall occur within 30 days of delivery.
IV. WARRANTY
The Contractor shall provide, at a minimum, a one-year warranty for the equipment. The warranty shall cover all parts (excluding the liners), labor and travel. Warranty shall commence upon Government acceptance of the deliverables.
